Ed has also been active in the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS
(RVAR) for 25 years, serving as it's president for some time.
He has served on numerous committees, and taught courses to other
real estate professionals. These courses include a Property Management
and Professional Standards and Ethics.
Ed has also
served in various other professional real estate organizations,
such as the State and National Society of Industrial & Office
REALTORS (SIOR) since 1978.
For his dedication
and service to the Real Estate industry, he has been named Virginia
Realtor of the Year, Roanoke Valley Association Realtor of the
Year, Meritorious Service – Roanoke Valley Association of
Realtors, and Certified Real Estate Broker of the Year. He has
also been named Small Businessman of the Year in the Roanoke Valley.
His company has been named Company of the Year nine times by the
Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. Ed has also received the
honor of Father of the Year - Civic Affairs and has received the
Chairman’s award for service from Downtown Roanoke, Inc.
In 1979, Governor Dalton appointed Ed to the Virginia
Real Estate Board for a two-year term and in 1981 for a five-year
term. In 1986, Governor Baliles appointed Ed for an additional
five-year term. He has also served as the Chairman of the Education
Committee for the Virginia Real Estate Board, as well as VREB
Chairman and Vice Chairman.
